The number of cyberattacks on healthcare groups has exceeded 700 per year for the past several years, with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Hackers demand many millions of dollars in exchange for not releasing private medical records online (and sometimes release them anyway) which drives up healthcare costs considerably. The current model of protecting organizations from attack cannot keep pace with the increasing sophistication of cyberthreats. Instead, a new model is needed. One where we drill down to the individual level of the files shared back and forth each day.
Document GPS and our forthcoming Spare Tire platform approach cybersecurity from a granular, user-driven level. Instead of solely relying on methods for keeping the hackers out, we’ve built a platform that bypasses the main EHR systems so medical records are still captured during downtimes and seamlessly sync back to the main EHR once the system has recovered.
